El Congreso Nacional Indígena que está reunido desde ayer en la ciudad de México importa no sólo por la invitación a los zapatistas, sino porque constituye un jalón de gran relevancia en la lucha por la toma de conciencia, la organización y la movilización de las etnias originarias. La muerte del ingeniero Alejandro Páez Orquidal, exgobernador de Durango entre 1968 y 1974, dirigió la Comisión Federal de Electricidad y luego se dedicó a negocios privados hasta que fue llamado por el presidente Díaz Ordaz para restaurar la estabilidad en Durango.
