El artículo explora la historia de la calle Meave y sus alrededores, un barrio de la Ciudad de México con una rica historia de comercio y vida nocturna. El autor cuenta que la calle lleva el nombre de Ambrosio de Meave, un filántropo vasco del siglo XVII que, junto a Aldaco y Echeveste, donó fondos para la construcción del Real Colegio de San Ignacio de México, conocido como Colegio de las Vizcaínas. También, se describe la zona como un lugar que albergó carpas y teatros famosos, donde se inició la carrera de artistas como "Resortes".
