Columna La Calle que aborda la conferencia en la Universidad Iberoamericana que dio el periodista Bertrand Rosenthal, invitado por La Fundación Prensa y Democracia, el objetivo de la conferencia fue invitar a periodistas mexicano a narrar abiertamente sus vicisitudes ante el crimen organizado; cuenta Alfredo Méndez que recibió amenazas de muerte por teléfono agrega, las autoridades intervienen los teléfonos, te siguen y van más allá cuando te dicen: ´Estás metido donde no debes; la realidad es el miedo, en este mundo donde te aconsejan no llamar a la policía cuando eres víctima de un asalto, por miedo a que terminen el trabajo, también los periodistas se sienten manipulados, es un juego perverso; el narco no puede funcionar sin complicidad ni protección.
